Maneka Gandhi Strikes Excessive Courtroom Towards Sultanpur MPs Election

Former BJP MP from Sultanpur, Maneka Gandhi, submitted a petition to the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad Excessive Courtroom on Saturday. She is contesting the election of SP MP Rambhual Nishad, alleging that he did not disclose all pending prison instances towards him when he filed his nomination papers for the current Lok Sabha election. 

She filed an election petition with the courtroom registry on Saturday. She appeared in individual earlier than the registrar to file the plea. This petition is anticipated to be heard by the Lucknow bench on July 30.  

In her petition, Gandhi highlighted that Nishad disclosed solely eight out of twelve prison instances in his election affidavit, and omitted the truth that he had been charge-sheeted in 4 of them. 

The petition alleged that Nishad hid details about prison instances at Pipraich police station in Gorakhpur district and Barhalganj police station. It known as on the Excessive Courtroom to annul Nishad’s election and declare Maneka Gandhi because the elected candidate. 

In June, Nishad defeated the incumbent MP Maneka Gandhi within the Sultanpur Lok Sabha seat by a margin of 43,174 votes. Nishad acquired 4,44,330 votes, whereas Gandhi garnered 4,01,156 votes.
