Mufti Hits Again At PM Modi: ‘If Sheikh Abdullah Hadn’t Chosen India, J&Ok Might Be Half Of Pakistan’

Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Social gathering (PDP) President and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, issued a pointy response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s current remarks accusing political dynasties of “ruining” the area. Addressing a gathering at Nawakadal in Srinagar on Thursday, Mufti defended the contributions of the Abdullah and Mufti households in shaping the area’s political panorama. 

Responding to Modi’s declare that the Abdullahs, Muftis, and Gandhis have “destroyed Jammu and Kashmir,” Mufti acknowledged that had Sheikh Abdullah not aligned with India in 1948, the area may have both joined Pakistan or remained an impartial state. 

“If the Abdullah household had adopted Pakistan’s agenda, Kashmir would have been a part of Pakistan right this moment,” Mufti stated, stressing that India owes a debt of gratitude to the late Sheikh Abdullah for his resolution to accede to India regardless of the Muslim-majority inhabitants. 

She additional highlighted the Abdullah and Mufti households’ efforts in selling peace within the conflict-torn area. “When terrorism was at its peak, Omar Abdullah carried India’s message to the world. The Mufti household initiated talks with Hurriyat to maintain the youth away from violence,” she added. 

Mufti accused the Bharatiya Janata Social gathering (BJP) of deflecting from actual points within the ongoing meeting polls, claiming the get together had no substantive agenda and was solely focusing on political households for electoral achieve. 

The heated trade started after Prime Minister Modi, whereas campaigning for BJP candidates in Kashmir, criticized the three political households, accusing them of fostering a local weather of concern and uncertainty in Jammu and Kashmir.
