Sai Pallavi made Amaran director promise her scenes would not be lower: ‘Makers lower heroine’s components in male-centric movies’

‘He gave it to me in writing’

Sai spoke about her apprehensions whereas signing the biopic and stated it’s straightforward for makers to cut out ladies actors’ scenes in such movies. She stated, “More often than not, in biopics or male-driven movies, the makers simply lower out the heroine’s parts, citing size points. So, I requested Amaran’s director, Rajkumar, to place it in writing that he wouldn’t do this to me. After all, I took that liberty with him, and he assured me that my character, Indhu Rebecca Varghese, is as vital to the movie as Main Mukund Varadarajan.”

For the unversed, Main Mukund was an Indian military officer from Tamil Nadu who was posthumously awarded the Ashoka Chakra. He died in 2014 throughout a counterterrorism operation in Jammu and Kashmir. He married Indhu, a Malayali, in 2009, and so they had their daughter, Arshea, in 2011. Amaran relies on his life and a e-book collection referred to as India’s Most Fearless: True Tales of Fashionable Navy by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh.
