New Delhi: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday blamed the Congress for giving a political color to the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya by not attending it. Sarma, who leads a BJP-led coalition within the state, mentioned that the remainder of the nation sees the occasion as a celebration of India’s tradition and heritage.
He made this comment after Congress chief Rahul Gandhi mentioned in Nagaland that his social gathering finds it arduous to take part within the January 22 ceremony because the BJP and the RSS have made it a “political occasion” targeted on Prime Minister Narendra Modi who might be current there.
“Rahul Gandhi may have gone there and it could have remained a non-political occasion. We welcome you to hitch us on this auspicious event. However you and your colleagues have chosen to remain away, thus making it a political challenge which it was not,” Sarma mentioned at a press meet.
Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge and different senior leaders ‘respectfully declined’ the invitation to the ceremony at Ayodhya, alleging that the BJP is utilizing it as a ‘political challenge’ for electoral advantages and claiming that faith is a ‘private affair’.
“Rahul and Sonia Gandhi are politicising the occasion due to their anti-Hindu mindset. Solely the Congress social gathering is tarnishing an occasion which is in any other case seen as a victory of Indian civilisation,” Sarma added.
Rahul Gandhi, who was in Nagaland for Bharati Jodo Nyay Yatra, mentioned that the BJP and the RSS are including an “election flavour” to the occasion and that’s the reason Congress can not attend it.
“Everybody will go, pay respects to Ram Lalla and are available again. I don’t assume anybody will give any political or anti-Congress speech. For others, it’s a triumph of Indian civilisation,” Sarma mentioned.
