TADA Courtroom Acquits 1993 Serial Blasts Case Key Accused Abdul Karim Tunda

New Delhi: The Terrorist and Anti-Disruptive Actions Act (TADA) courtroom on Thursday acquitted Abdul Karim Tunda, the first accused within the 1993 serial bomb blasts case, citing a scarcity of proof. Advocate Shafqat Sultani, representing Tunda, highlighted that the CBI failed to offer substantial proof in opposition to Abdul Karim Tunda.

“Abdul Karim Tunda is harmless, in the present day the Courtroom gave this judgement. Abdul Karim Tunda has been acquitted in all sections and all acts. CBI prosecution couldn’t produce any concrete piece of proof earlier than the courtroom in TADA, IPC, Railway Acts, Arms Act, or Explosive Substances Act,” Advocate Sultani instructed reporters.

The CBI had accused Tunda of being the mastermind behind the blasts on 4 trains on the primary anniversary of the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition. “We had been saying from the start that Abdul Karim Tunda is harmless…Irfan and Hamiduddin have been convicted and the quantum of the sentence will likely be pronounced shortly,” he added.

The fees have been framed in opposition to Tunda, and two different accused, recognized as Irfan alias Pappu and Hamiruddin, for orchestrating the blasts in Lucknow, Kanpur, Hyderabad, Surat and Mumbai on the intervening night time of December 5-6, 1993.
