Bihar Police on Tuesday arrested a “former affiliate” of Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, and claimed that it was this man who threatened the Lok Sabha MP posing as a henchman of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi as a part of a plan to demand heightened safety for the parliamentarian.
The accused, Ram Babu Yadav, allegedly made a video name to Pappu Yadav, demanding an apology to Lawrence Bishnoi for a publish threatening to “end off” the jailed gangster’s community.
Ram Babu Yadav was arrested from his native place in Bhojpur district.
Purnea SP Kartikeya Ok Sharma advised that the accused was previously related to Jan Adhikar Celebration (JAP), which Pappu Yadav had merged with the Congress forward of the Lok Sabha polls.
Pappu Yadav contested and received from the Purnea Lok Sabha seat as an Impartial candidate.
“Purnea Police tracked Ram Babu Yadav’s location and arrested him. Preliminary investigations revealed that he has no connections with any gang. He was previously related to JAP. He has confessed that he despatched threatening messages to the Lok Sabha MP on the instruction of some individuals related to the MP himself,” Sharma stated.
The arrested man claimed that he was paid Rs 2000 for making and sending the video on the WhatsApp variety of the MP. He additionally advised the interrogators that he was speculated to get Rs. 2 lakh extra and a few political publish from the individuals related to the MP after sending one other threatening video which was already made, the SP stated.
Police questioned Ram Babu Yadav to know the motive, stated the SP.
