Chhattisgarh: 9 Naxalites Arrested In Bijapur District

New Delhi: 9 Naxalites, one among them carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head, have been arrested from separate locations in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Friday, police stated.

5 of them have been held from the forest close to Pusbaka village below Basaguda police station limits throughout an anti-Maoist operation, an official stated.

Amongst them, Raju Oyam, who carried a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head, was a member of the Usur Native Organisation Squad of the outlawed Maoist outfit whereas Bhima Madvi was vp of Gaganpalli RPC (Revolutionary Celebration Committee) Jantana Sarkar, he added.

The opposite three have been lower-rung cadres, the police official stated.

A cache of explosives, a `tiffin’ bomb, a battery, spikes, splinters, gelatin sticks, cordex and electrical wires in addition to anti- authorities Maoist pamphlets have been recovered from their possession, he stated.

Three extra lower-rung cadres have been arrested from Usur and one particular person from Tarrem police station station limits, the official stated.

The Maoist held from Tarrem was concerned in an incident of firing on a police crew at a newly arrange safety camp, he stated.
