Three Naxalites had been killed in an encounter with safety forces in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district on Thursday, state Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma mentioned.
The safety forces have achieved success within the anti-Naxal operation in Sukma, he mentioned.
To date, our bodies of three Naxalites have been recovered and the search operation remains to be underway, Sharma, who holds the Residence portfolio, informed reporters in Raipur.
Referring to the IED blast triggered by Naxalites on January 6 whereby eight safety personnel and a civilian driver of their automobile had been killed in Bijapur district, the deputy CM mentioned, “There may be enormous anger amongst safety forces after what Naxalites have executed.”
“I’ve met them (safety forces). I reiterate that with the power and braveness of our jawans, the (Naxal) menace might be eradicated inside the stipulated time,” he mentioned.
Union Residence Minister Amit Shah on Monday vowed to remove Naxals from the nation by March 2026 and asserted that the sacrifice of these killed by the extremists in Chhattisgarh won’t go in useless.
On Thursday morning, the encounter broke out in a forest alongside the border of Sukma and Bijapur districts when a joint workforce of safety personnel was out on an anti-Naxalite operation, police mentioned.
Personnel belonging to the District Reserve Guard, Particular Activity Pressure and CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Motion- an elite unit of CRPF) had been concerned within the operation, they mentioned.
