Beirut: Israeli warplanes renewed on Wednesday their raids on Beirut’s suburbs after days of cautious calm, launching three consecutive airstrikes on Haret Hreik.
The raids had been preceded by an Israeli warning to evacuate a number of buildings in Haret Hreik within the Dahieh suburbs, Xinhua information company reported quoting the Lebanese Nationwide Information Company.
Israeli military spokesman claimed that the Israeli plane “raided weapons for Hezbollah saved underground in a warehouse within the southern suburb, with exact intelligence steering from the Army Intelligence Service.”
Beirut’s southern suburbs have been spared from Israeli airstrikes prior to now 5 days, whereas Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati stated on Tuesday that Lebanon had obtained “a type of a assure” from the US to cut back the Israeli escalation in Beirut and its southern suburbs.
Since September 23, the Israeli military has been launching an unprecedented, intensive air assault on Lebanon, dubbed “Arrows of the North,” in a harmful escalation with Hezbollah.
