Gujarat Anti-Encroachment Drive: 135 Folks Face Detention Close to Somnath Temple

Gir Somnath: As many as 135 folks have been detained throughout a demolition drive to clear encroachments from authorities lands close to Somnath Temple in Gujarat’s Gir Somnath district on Saturday, officers stated.

A whole bunch of police personnel have been deployed for the drive undertaken to take away unauthorised constructions on authorities land at Prabhas Patan in Veraval, the positioning of Somnath Temple, the district administration stated in an announcement.

The administration stated non secular constructions and concrete homes have been demolished throughout the drive that started within the early hours of the day, and it has freed round 15 hectares of presidency land valued at Rs 60 crore.

Labourers have been introduced in on 52 tractors, 58 bulldozers, two hydra cranes, 5 dumpers, two ambulances and three firefighters have been concerned within the train, the discharge stated.

As per the discharge, 788 police personnel and the state reserve police drive (SRPF) have been deployed together with senior police and district administration officers. 

Three superintendents of police, 4 deputy superintendents of police, 12 inspectors, 24 sub-inspectors, and the extra district Justice of the Peace, sub-divisional Justice of the Peace, and government magistrates have been current.

“Round 135 folks have been detained as a part of the operation,” it stated. The regulation and order scenario is beneath management within the space, and no untoward incidents have occurred, police stated.
