J&Ok Election 2024: Jammu and Kashmir are going to the meeting polls nearly a decade after the final election was held. The erstwhile state was transformed into the Union Territory following the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019.

That is the primary meeting election for the reason that abrogation of the contentious constitutional provision. The Election Fee of India has introduced that the polling for 90 meeting seats will probably be held in three phases – September 18, September 25 and October Eight whereas the counting of votes will happen on October 4.

Section 1 Voting Date, Time

The voting for the primary section of the meeting polls will happen on September 18 and the voting time is prone to be between 8am to 5pm in a lot of the seats.

Of the 90 seats, 24 constituencies will go to the polls in section 1. These 24 seats embrace some key seats like Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam, Anantnag, Pahalgam and Ramban. Candidates from the BJP, Nationwide Convention, Congress, PDP and different events are within the fray.

The BJP will not be contesting on the eight seats going to the polls within the section 1 whereas the PDP can also be not contesting on some seats. Whereas the Nationwide Convention and the Congress have fashioned an alliance, they may have a pleasant battle on a complete of 5 seats out of the 90.

There are a complete of 219 candidates in fray for the section 1 of the Jammu and Kashmir meeting polls. The wealthiest candidate within the first section can also be from PDP: Abdul Gaffar Sofi, who’s contesting from Anantnag West. In his election affidavit, Sofi reported property exceeding Rs 66 crore. Following him is PDP’s Imtiaz Ahmed Shan, with property amounting to over Rs 34 crore.
