In a tragic incident, an IPS officer died in an accident whereas on his approach to take up his first posting in Hassan district, police stated on Monday.
The accident occurred on Sunday night when the tyre of the police car he was travelling in allegedly burst close to Kittane in Hassan taluk. In consequence, the driving force misplaced management, and the car collided with a home and a tree on the roadside, police stated.
The deceased recognized as Harsh Bardhan, 26 years outdated, was a 2023-batch IPS officer of the Karnataka cadre and belongs to Madhya Pradesh.
As per the police, Bardhan was en path to Hassan to start his obligation as a probationary Assistant Superintendent of Police in Holenarasipur.
Bardhan sustained extreme head accidents and died of them throughout remedy, whereas the driving force, Manjegowda, suffered minor accidents, a senior police officer stated.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah supplied condolences to the household of the deceased IPS officer.
He stated in a publish on X and stated, “Saddened to listen to in regards to the dying of probationary IPS officer Harsh Bardhan in a horrific accident close to Kittane border of Hassan-Mysuru Freeway. It is extremely unhappy that such an accident occurred whereas he was on his approach to take cost as an IPS workplace. This could not have occurred when years of arduous work have been paying off.”
“I pray to God that Harsh Bardhan’s soul rests in peace. My condolences to the household of the deceased,” he added.
