Kolkata Police Imposes Part 163 For 7 Days Over Violence Protests Towards Medical doctors Rape-Homicide

New Delhi: Amid the continued protests in opposition to the rape and homicide of a postgraduate trainee physician at RG Kar Medical Collage and Hospital, the Kolkata police have applied Part  163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (previously Part 144 of the CrPC) for seven days across the Medical School and Hospital. On Wednesday, a mob vandalised the protest space and the hospital campus at RG Kar, main safety personnel to intervene and disperse the gang.
