Laapataa Girls actor Sparsh Shrivastava shares that he’s celebrating along with his household in his hometown of Agra, taking a second to let the information sink in.
Actor Sparsh Shrivastava says he was “flooded with messages” after information broke that Laapataa Girls had been picked as India’s entry to the Oscars.
He tells us, “Kabhi socha nahin tha ki Oscars tak chale jaenge. It occurred impulsively. I used to be in a gathering and was my casting director, Romil, referred to as me. He broke the information to me. I had by no means imagined that the movie will turn out to be this big and shall be picked for Oscars. Nobody may have imagined this. All of us knew that we had made a great movie. We had been hoping for it (Oscars), however undecided of it.”
Shrivastava shares that he’s celebrating along with his household in his hometown of Agra, taking a second to let the information sink in. “They’re extraordinarily completely happy about it. Meri household kafi emotional hai. Mithaiya khayi jaa rahi hai. Unki aankhon mein ansu hai. I really feel nice to have the ability to have a good time this second with them,” says the 25-year-old.

For Shrivastava, who has featured in Ae Mere Watan, Jamtara and Collar Bomb (2021), amongst others, a ticket to the Oscars seems like a validation of the work he is completed thus far: “Following the movie’s launch, the response I’ve acquired from the trade and the viewers felt like ‘okay you’re heading in the right direction’ and this solely provides to it.”
