New Delhi: The Supreme Courtroom on Friday delivered its verdict on a plea filed by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, difficult his arrest in reference to a corruption case stemming from the now-scrapped Delhi Excise coverage of 2021-22.
A Bench comprising Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan granted bail to the Aam Aadmi Get together (AAP) chief, offering reduction within the ongoing authorized battle.
Justice Bhuyan whereas announcing the ruling, stated that he fails to grasp why CBI was in a rush to arrest Delhi CM simply after he was granted bail within the Enforcement Directorate (ED) case, when the company had not acted for 22 months.
CBI arrest is unjustified and thus Kejriwal ought to be launched forthwith, says Justice Bhuyan.
Kejriwal had filed two separate petitions with the Supreme Courtroom: one difficult the legality of his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and one other searching for bail.
