Twelve extra individuals have been killed in lightning strikes in seven districts of Bihar, officers stated on Monday.
With the contemporary fatalities, over 40 individuals have misplaced their lives to lightning strikes in varied districts of Bihar within the final 10 days, together with 22 within the final 48 hours.
The 12 contemporary fatalities have been reported within the final 24 hours, whereas 10 deaths have been reported within the previous 24 hours, they stated.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed condolences over the deaths of the 12 individuals and introduced an ex-gratia of Rs four lakh every to the subsequent of kin of the deceased.
He appealed to the individuals to stay alert and vigilant and keep indoors throughout thunderstorms. He additionally urged individuals to comply with advisories issued by the Catastrophe Administration Division.
