Prayagraj: As Prayagraj prepares to host the Mahakumbh, a large gathering of devotees, tea distributors from Western Uttar Pradesh have descended upon the Sangam Ghat, braving the chilly climate prevailing within the holy metropolis.
The Mahakumbh, which takes place each 12 years, is predicted to draw over 45 crore devotees.
Regardless of the chilly circumstances, devotees are thronging the Sangam Ghat to take a holy dip within the Ganga. A devotee informed ANI, “It feels nice after taking a dip right here in Prayagraj. We aren’t feeling chilly. Our enthusiasm and perception is far more than the chilly we’re experiencing…”
Tea distributors, who’ve arrived from Western Uttar Pradesh, are cashing in on the large gathering. A tea vendor, Ajay Singh informed ANI, “The price of one cup of tea is Rs 10. Tea doesn’t promote through the day because the Daylight comes out. Who drinks the tea when it’s scorching? We promote the ocean within the morning and night when it’s chilly.”
One other tea vendor who had arrived at four am on Saturday informed ANI, “I’ll promote the tea right here until 8-9 am. I’ve not but offered any cup of tea. I earn between Rs 500-1000 every day.”
Nevertheless, not all tea distributors are lucky, a tea vendor complained,” I’ve not offered any cup of tea. I’ll make out between Rs 500-1000 if the Mela runs out properly.”
In the meantime, Uttar Pradesh Police has deployed underwater drones and put in 2,700 AI-enabled cameras in and across the Maha Kumbh campsite space to reinforce safety.
A day earlier, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, flagged off particular shuttle buses of the Uttar Pradesh Transport Company in addition to electrical buses named ‘Atal Seva’ on the second day of his tour to Prayagraj.
The Maha Kumbh is being celebrated after 12 years, and over 45 crore devotees are anticipated for the occasion. In the course of the Maha Kumbh, devotees will collect on the Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati (now extinct), to take a holy dip. The Maha Kumbh will conclude on February 26.
The primary bathing rituals (Shahi Snan) of the Kumbh will happen on January 14 (Makar Sankranti), January 29 (Mauni Amavasya), and February 3 (Basant Panchami).
