Mahakumbh Nagar: Over one crore devotees bathed within the sacred Sangam on Monday. A file turnout is anticipated for the primary ‘Amrit Snan’ of Mahakumbh Mela 2025, scheduled for Tuesday, on Makar Sankranti. Seers and Naga Sadhus reached Sangam early within the morning for the holy dip. All 13 Akharas of the Sanatan Dharma have been assigned the date, order and time for his or her respective holy tub on January 14. 

The primary Amrit Snan of Mahakumbh holds significance as It follows the main ‘snan’ held on Monday at Sangam throughout Paush Poornima. The occasion is exclusive because it entails the participation of ‘Akharas’ on Makar Sankranti – a hindu pageant marking the shift of the Solar from the Southern to the Northern hemisphere. 

MahaKumbh 2025, the world’s largest spiritual gathering, has begun in Prayagraj. The 45-day religious occasion spans a large 10,000-acre space. The Uttar Pradesh authorities has made intensive preparations for the Mela. This contains 1.5 lakh bogs, 15,000 sanitation employees, 2,500 Ganga Seva Doots (volunteers), and 1.5 lakh tents, ANI reported.

  1. Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP) president Mahant Ravindra Puri instructed PTI that the Amrit Snan would begin at 5:30 am on Tuesday. 

  2. Shri Panchayati Akhara Mahanirvani and Shri Shambhu Panchayati Atal Akhara took the primary Amrit Snan on Tuesday. They left their camp round 5:15 am and reached the ghat with their huge processions. The Akharas have 40 minutes every for bathing. 

  3. Shri Taponidhi Panchayati Shri Niranjani Akhara and Shri Panchayati Akhara Anand would be the second ones to take Amrit Snan. Within the third place, three Sanyasi Akharas will take Amrit Snan they usually embrace Shri Panchdashnam Juna Akhara, Shri Panchdashnam Aawahan Akhara and Shri Panchagni Akhara.  

  4. Mahant Ravindra Puri acknowledged that the generally used phrases ‘shahi snan’ and ‘peshwai’ for the Kumbh have been renamed as ‘Amrit Snan’ and ‘Chhavni Pravesh,’ PTI reported. 

  5. Deputy Inspector Common of Police (DIG) Vaibhav Krishna instructed ANI that the Sangam can be divided into two sections—one for the Akharas’ holy dip and the opposite for devotees.
