Nicholas Pooran has reportedly signed with the Lucknow Tremendous Giants (LSG) for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. As per Cricbuzz, the 29-year-old visited the RPSG Home in Kolkata to satisfy proprietor Sanjiv Goenka and finalise the deal.
Pooran is ready to be the first retention for the franchise, with a wage of Rs 18 crore. This makes him the primary formal signing of the upcoming IPL season. His earlier public sale worth was Rs 16 crore when LSG acquired him in 2023 after being launched by the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
An LSG official highlighted Pooran’s versatility and constructive mindset as key causes for his signing, saying, “Pooran is dedicated to LSG, possesses a profitable mindset, thinks deep and above all he’s adaptable to the batting order and any match state of affairs.”
Within the final IPL season, Pooran scored 499 runs, together with three half-centuries, 35 fours, and 36 sixes, proving to be one of many franchise’s prime performers. Moreover, his expertise as a wicketkeeper add worth to the group.
