The Nationwide Institute of Know-how (NIT), Calicut, imposed a year-long suspension on Vyasakh Premkumar, a fourth-year BTech scholar and Dalit, who had protested towards the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The Dean of College students’ Welfare cited his involvement in allegedly scary an ‘illegal’ gathering on January 22 which resulted in ‘campus unrest’ as the rationale for the suspension.
The authorities clarified that the choice to revoke the suspension will stand till a listening to on the petition filed by Vysakh.

The police used a lathi cost on Thursday to disperse activists from a youth group on the Nationwide Institute of Know-how (NIT) in Kozhikode who had been protesting towards the ‘suspension’.
