Nitin Menon, Kumar Dharmasena to be on-field umpires for ICC ODI World Cup opener | Cricket Information – Instances of India

NEW DELHI: The ICC on Friday introduced the match officers for the World Cup opener between England and New Zealand on October 5.
Nitin Menon and Kumar Dharmasena from India will function the on-field umpires, whereas former tempo bowler Javagal Srinath will tackle the position of match referee.
Paul Wilson would be the TV umpire, and Saikat will function the fourth umpire for the event opener, which will likely be held in Ahmedabad.
For the 13th version of the event, a complete of sixteen umpires have been chosen, comprising all twelve members of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires and 4 people from the ICC Rising Umpire Panel.

The skilled group contains three of the 4 umpires who officiated the 2019 last at Lord’s: Dharmasena, Marais Erasmus, and Rod Tucker. The one one lacking from that quartet is Aleem Dar, who stepped down from the Elite Panel in March of this 12 months.
