PM Modi Hails Historic G20 African Union Membership

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Nigeria and is all set to be honoured with the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON). With this, he’ll turn out to be solely the second international dignitary to obtain this honour. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed gratitude for the non-public dedication proven by Nigerian leaders in enhancing the strategic partnership between India and Nigeria. 

“I categorical gratitude on your private dedication to strengthening strategic relations between India and Nigeria. I’m glad that final 12 months, underneath the chairmanship of India, Nigeria joined G20 Summit for the primary time as a Visitor Nation…” Modi mentioned.

Modi highlighted the historic second when each nations collectively supported the African Union’s everlasting membership within the G20, calling it a “historic” determination.

“Collectively, we granted everlasting membership of G20 to the African Union. I feel this was historic. That is pleasant that Nigeria has been accorded the standing of a Companion Nation in BRICS. I congratulate Nigeria for this necessary achievement…” he added.

PM Modi expressed this honour which he’s all set to obtain as centuries-old India-Nigeria relations. 

“I categorical heartfelt gratitude on your determination to confer me with Nigeria’s nationwide honour. This honour isn’t just mine however that of 140 Crore Indians. That is an honour of centuries-old India-Nigeria relations. For this honour, I categorical heartfelt gratitude to Nigeria, your Authorities and residents,” PM Modi mentioned in Nigeria.
