Punjab: 9 Died After Automotive Swept Away In Swollen Rivulet In Punjab

New Delhi: The tragic incident befell on Sunday after 9 folks, together with eight members of a household, died and two others went lacking after their automobile was swept away by the flooded Jaijon Choe, a seasonal rivulet situated about 34 km from right here, Police stated.

The rivulet swelled because of the heavy rainfall that affected numerous elements of Punjab and different areas.

The relations have been travelling within the SUV from Dehra close to Mehatpur within the Una district of Himachal Pradesh to Mehrowal village in Punjab’s SBS Nagar district to attend a marriage, police stated, PTI reported.

The SUV was crossing the Jaijon Choe, which was swollen attributable to heavy rain and their automobile bought swept away, the police stated.

A viral video of the incident on social media confirmed that the automobile was caught within the flooded choe.
