The Odisha authorities will unlock the Ratna Bhandar, the revered treasury of the 12th-century Jagannath temple in Puri, on Sunday after 46 years for a list of the ornaments and different valuables, an official stated.
The treasury was final opened in 1978.
“The Ratna Bhandar of the Jagannath temple shall be reopened right now at 1.28 pm,” stated Justice Biswanath Rath, the chairman of the committee shaped by the state authorities to oversee the stock of valuables within the treasury.
The choice was taken at a gathering of the committee held in Puri, he stated.
Members of the committee, together with Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) chief administrator Arabinda Padhee, will go to the treasury after the reopening, he added.
