The BJP has introduced its candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha bypolls on September 3, 2024, naming 9 people to contest the elections. Amongst them are Union ministers Ravneet Singh Bittu, representing Rajasthan, and George Kurian, from Madhya Pradesh. The celebration has additionally nominated Mamata Mohanta, a former BJD chief from Odisha, and Kiran Choudhary, an ex-Congress chief from Haryana, each of whom lately joined the BJP.
The listing of candidates consists of Manan Kumar Mishra from Bihar, Dhairyashil Patil from Maharashtra, and Rajib Bhattacharjee from Tripura, who at present serves because the president of the BJP’s Tripura unit. These bypolls are being held to fill 12 vacant Rajya Sabha seats throughout 9 states. The vacancies arose as ten sitting members, together with Union ministers Piyush Goyal, Sarbananda Sonowal, and Jyotiraditya Scindia, have been elected to the Lok Sabha. Moreover, bypolls will happen for 2 seats in Telangana and Odisha.
