Lok Sabha on Thursday was adjourned for the day as opposition members protested within the Home carrying T-shirts with slogans on the problem of delimitation of parliamentary and meeting constituencies.
Krishna Prasad Tenneti, who was within the Chair, requested the Opposition members to return again to the Home in “correct form”.
“We’ve got a dialogue on agriculture. Such an essential subject of the nation you aren’t permitting the dialogue to happen. I request you to cooperate and let the proceedings go on,” he urged the opposition members.
When they didn’t comply, Tenneti adjourned the Home for the day.
Lok Sabha on Thursday witnessed repeated adjournments over this matter.
Earlier, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla objected to the DMK members carrying T-shirts with slogans written on them and mentioned such actions have been in opposition to the foundations of process of the Home.
Birla adjourned the proceedings until midday. Related scenes have been witnessed when the Home reconvened at 12 midday and TDP member Tenneti, who was within the chair, adjourned the proceedings until 2 pm.
DMK members have been carrying white T-shirts with slogans ‘#fairdelimitation Tamil Nadu will combat, Tamil Nadu will win’ written on them.
“Home capabilities with guidelines and procedures. Members have to keep up the dignity and honour of the Home. However some MPs aren’t following the foundations and violating the dignity which isn’t acceptable,” Birla mentioned when the Home met at 11 am.
The Speaker directed these members, who got here carrying T-shirts with slogans written on them, to exit of the Home and are available again with correct gown sustaining dignity.
“Nonetheless massive a pacesetter is, such undignified apparel shouldn’t be acceptable contained in the Home. Go exterior, change your garments and are available again with a correct gown,” he instructed the members citing parliamentary guidelines and adjourned the Home until 12 midday.
