A statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was inaugurated on December 26, 2024, on the banks of Pangong Tso at an altitude of 14,300 toes. The statue was unveiled by Lieutenant Common Hitesh Bhalla, SC, SM, VSM, Common Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Fireplace and Fury Corps and Colonel of the Maratha Gentle Infantry. The inauguration ceremony was organized by the Fireplace and Fury Corps, Indian Military, to commemorate the Maratha king identified for his management and justice.
A video of the revealing was shared by the Fireplace and Fury Corps of the Indian Military. In accordance with the Fireplace and Fury Corps, the placement was chosen to mirror the indomitable spirit of Shivaji Maharaj and to encourage the armed forces stationed within the area. The scenic Pangong Tso, identified for its gorgeous magnificence and strategic significance, now serves as a backdrop for this outstanding tribute.
